Wimp

Went for a run today at lunchtime, thinking I'd see how far I could go without the calf hurting. Managed about 1.5 paltry kilometres. Not exactly in pain, but the muscle was starting to seize up a bit and feel noticeably sore.

So I stopped running and walked for a bit, tried running again and gave up, turning to walk back to work. Worst of it is being overtaken by people I could outrun on a slow day, not to mention the pitying glances from the decent runners.

Can't help wondering if I'm being a wimp. Should I run through it and see what happens? Or maybe run more on my heel, which seems to hurt less?

One thing's for sure, I need to get some exercise so I might be dusting off the bike this weekend and giving that another shot.
