Slow Sunday run

Finished the first week of training with a 16k slow run from Ngaio to Te Papa and back. Average pace of 5:13, though probably should have kept it to 5:30. Felt kind of sluggish most of the way, lungs a bit crap at the moment, and calves got a bit tight, especially outside of the left calf at about 11k.

But, some guy overtook me on the flat just before the Ngaio Gorge uphill so I folowed hi up at 6:00 minute pace and tracked him most of the way home. Extra speed seemed to stretch the legs out well.

Trying to be more active in running style, with higher knees and back kick, and more use of the glutes. Feels good when I remember to do it, though I tend to forget and slide back to a less focused style. Will see how that goes...
